About Ve

I’m Ve, and I have been supporting individuals and couples for over 30 years as a compassionate and collaborative social worker and counsellor. Watching the meaningful change that can happen in people’s lives makes every day as a therapist a privilege.

It has been a lifelong desire of mine to understand and affect how people can better manage everyday stress and life’s challenges so they can live without fear, weight, and barriers.
My deep curiosity on how to help people feel in more control of their inner world has led me to a support approach dedicated to developing personal agency, choice, and self-trust.

I take a warm, authentic, and trauma-informed approach to each session and create an empathetic and judgement-free space for you to reflect, unpack, and explore your inner world.

Together, we’ll help you to recognise your strengths, take meaningful action, and create the change you’ve been seeking.

I believe that therapy should be affordable and accessible for everyone. My therapy prices are deliberately kept lower than the standard rate to ensure fair access for anyone seeking therapy who may have financial barriers.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Relational Therapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on the dynamics of relationships and their effect on our sense of identity, behaviour, connection, and emotional wellbeing.

  • The aim of Relational Therapy is to help individuals build a sense of agency, self-trust, and trust in others. It also helps to develop and understand new ideas and patterns of relationships to establish healthier and stronger connections, and to build security and stability in life.

  • Trauma-informed therapy is guided by establishing safety, collaboration, trust, transparency, choice and control, and empowerment for individuals that may have experienced past trauma that affects their behaviours, relationships, emotions, and thoughts.

  • It is not a requirement for you to seek a GP referral to see a therapist. If you are engaging in therapy as a private patient paying out-of-pocket fees, you can self-refer to a therapist. If you are looking to have up to 10 therapy sessions subsidised by a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), you will need to see your GP to obtain a referral and plan. However, I do not currently offer MHCP subsidised sessions.

  • Currently, I do not see patients under the MHCP scheme. However, my fees are adjusted to make therapy very affordable for patients without a MHCP.

  • Yes, I do offer telehealth therapy sessions via video link for patients who prefer to engage in therapy remotely.

  • Therapy is not exclusively for people in crisis or with highly traumatic experiences. Individuals can benefit from therapy in every stage of life and often engage when they are feeling stuck, lost, disconnected, overwhelmed, or have noticed repeating patterns in their lives that they cannot manage on their own. Therapy is for everyone at any time.

  • Your relationship with your therapist should be built on absolute trust, understanding, and safety. Finding the right therapist for you will help you build that relationship early and support you in reaching your therapy goals. If our relationship doesn’t seem like the right fit, I encourage you to give that feedback so you can move forward to find the person you need.

  • Your first therapy session typically involves getting to know you as a person, establishing rapport, and getting a sense of why you’ve engaged in therapy and what your goals are from our sessions. Everyone’s first therapy session is different, and our time will be guided by what your needs and wants are from the session on the day.

  • Therapy sessions typically run for 50 minutes. However, longer and more intensive sessions can be booked on request.

  • There is no set frequency for individuals to attend therapy sessions. You may find that you require weekly sessions, or you may find that fortnightly or monthly sessions are more appropriate for you.

  • Item descriptionYou can reach out via my online form or call to make an appointment. Prior to your first appointment, you will complete an intake form which will help to inform your personal details and reasons for engaging in therapy so that we have a good start when your first session commences.
